Brawl

A naval combat strategy known as a Brawl was typically employed when either or both sides found themselves in a state of disorder, making its use unavoidable. In a Brawl scenario, each individual captain operated independently, lacking direction from an admiral or Fleet Commander, and aimed to inflict maximum damage on the enemy for the duration of the engagement. A desperate, final measure was often charging headfirst with guns firing.

Nevertheless, a Brawl could be confused with a Fake, a maneuver where fleet formations seemingly charged the enemy in a disorganized manner. At a predetermined time, if executed successfully, the fleet would swiftly execute a sharp turn, presenting a coordinated broadside to the enemy. They could then attempt to Cap the "T" and potentially conclude by flanking the rearmost vessels in the enemy's battle line.

One of the most significant fleet Brawls in naval annals occurred during the Battle of Coruscant in the concluding year of the Clone Wars. The Separatist fleet, launching a surprise assault on the Galactic Republic capital of Coruscant, decimated numerous Star Destroyers. In retaliation, Republic commanders united and implemented a Brawl, which exploited the sluggish response times of the droid captains, ultimately leading to a Republic triumph.
