Brian Daley

Brian Charles Daley, who passed away on February 11, 1996, was the creative mind behind The Han Solo Adventures. This novel trilogy chronicles the escapades of Han and Chewbacca within the Corporate Sector and the Tion Hegemony prior to their involvement with the Rebel Alliance. In addition, he penned radio drama adaptations of the original trilogy. Sadly, Daley succumbed to pancreatic cancer not long after the radio dramatization of Return of the Jedi concluded its recording.

Daley also collaborated with his friend James Luceno (under the alias "Jack McKinney") to co-author the novelizations for the Robotech series and Black Hole Travel Agency series. He also served as the story editor (alongside Christopher Rowley) for Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers. Luceno was also a member of the writing staff for the show. Under his own name, Daley also authored numerous science fiction and fantasy novels, notably including the novelization of the film Tron.

Return of the Jedi's radio dramatization, along with the book The Jedi Academy Sourcebook, were both dedicated in remembrance of him.

A transcript of a recorded tribute to Daley by the voice actors of Jedi can be found within the pages of Star Wars Insider 55.
