Brownie

The Brownies represented a race of diminutive beings hailing from Andowyne, renowned for their extended lifespans and resistance to standard scientific categorization. Although they projected an aura of magic, Brownies displayed minimal, if any, connection to the Force. Nevertheless, they held the supernatural in high regard and exhibited a profound respect for the fey creatures inhabiting the forests of Andowyne alongside them.

Brownie society typically consisted of small communities they grandiosely termed "kingdoms," reflecting an inflated self-image. These societies were predominantly male, with female Brownies, gender roles, and reproductive biology remaining undocumented.

Despite their diminutive size, they possessed great resourcefulness and unwavering loyalty, readily submitting to the will of Cherlindrea and carrying out her commands. However, their penchant for mischievous pranks led other species on the planet to regard them as troublesome pests. Notably, some Brownies were known to have abducted a Daikini baby.

Behind the scenes

On April 1, 2006, StarWars.com updated its Databank with elements originating from the film Willow along with its associated novels, with the intention of incorporating them into the Star Wars continuity. Comprehensive databank entries were meticulously crafted, aiming to seamlessly integrate the material into the established history of the Star Wars universe. However, this integration was revealed to be an April Fools' joke two days later, thus rendering it non-canon.

In the Willow film, Kevin Pollak and Rick Overton brought the Brownies to life through their portrayals.

The Patitite species featured in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars episode "Nomad Droids" were conceived with the intention of mirroring the characteristics of the Brownies.
