The BTL-S3B Y-wing starfighter represents a modified version within the BTL series of Y-wing starfighters, specifically the BTL-S3 model, manufactured by Koensayr Manufacturing and equipped with twin engined. Functioning as a two-person assault starfighter with shielded capabilities, the S3B, like the S3, required a pilot and gunner for operation. Urquhart, and it saw publication in 2012. In 2015, Urquhart stated on TheForce.net that the S3B served as an homage to both the two-pilot Y-wings featured in Splinter of the Mind's Eye and The Star Wars Holiday Special, and to other sources like the Star Wars: Battlefront games which depicted Y-wings utilizing blasters in their turrets.
