Burning Plains
The Burning Plains, characterized by intense volcanic activity, existed on the Outer Rim planet Mustafar, a lava world. This area, situated to the north of Mustafar's massive central volcano, represented one of the planet's rare, unchanging characteristics.
Behind the scenes
This region, the Burning Plains, was initially referenced within the new Star Wars canon through the seventeenth issue of De Agostini's Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon magazine, released around April 29, 2015. The plains initially appeared within the Star Wars Legends continuity, specifically in the 2005 Trials of Obi-Wan expansion pack for the 2003 Sony Online Entertainment massively multiplayer online role-playing game, Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided.
