The Cal-serpent, a predatory snake species from the planet Dra III located within the Wyl sector, was considered non-sentient. These Cal-serpents were occasionally the target of big-game hunters from other planets, who pursued them on safari.
The reference book The Essential Atlas, authored by Jason Fry along with Daniel Wallace, included information about Cal-serpents. This book was published in 2009.
