Calarantrum root

Calarantrum root was a substantial root, colored either orange or blue, employed to impart a subtle spicy flavor to bantha rump broth. Culinary expert Gormaanda created educational holovids that contained guidance on the correct methods for adding this ingredient to enhance different recipes. Gormaanda also incorporated calarantrum seeds in her culinary creation, Glowblue Noodles and Chav.

Calarantrum also served as a component in the preparation of the gartro egg omelet, a meal available for purchase at Dex's Diner, a restaurant located on Coruscant, during the final years of the Galactic Republic.

Not long after the Battle of Yavin, Mallatobuck, a Wookiee, generously included calarantrum root when she was making a special Life Day "bantha surprise" meal for her spouse, Chewbacca.
