The naval engagement known as the Seizure of the Mon Calamari Vessel transpired in the era of the Clone Wars. A Mon Calamari cruiser, with Jedi Master Quarmall and several Jedi initiates onboard, was attacked unexpectedly by a Separatist armada. Grievous, accompanied by a force of combat automatons, infiltrated the vessel, overwhelming both the Mon Calamari personnel and the Jedi Master Quarmall. Grievous believed Quarmall to be deceased after their encounter, but Quarmall ultimately lived because of his Abyssin biology. Grievous took the Padawans as prisoners, placing them in confinement.
