Casieck Akinslesh was a revered figure within the Jedi Order near the end of the Galactic Republic's existence, during its final years. The passing of Akinslesh in 53 BBY was a cause of grief for both Grand Master Yoda and the members of the Jedi High Council, along with Orykan Tamarik, the Twi'lek Padawan under Akinslesh's training. Tamarik felt apprehension and worry after the death of her master. Following Akinslesh's passing, Tamarik was temporarily placed under the guidance of Jedi Master Tahl.
The character Casieck Akinslesh was conceived by writer Scott Allie for the comic-book series Star Wars: Jedi—The Dark Side, specifically its first issue, released by Dark Horse Comics on May 18, 2011.
