A beverage, specifically tea, could be created by brewing the flowers of the cassius tree. Pre Vizsla, the Clone Wars-era chief of the Mandalorian Death Watch, was known to enjoy cassius tea, and he felt it had health benefits.
Vizsla and his Death Watch soldiers were stationed on the Outer Rim planet of Zanbar in the year 20 BBY. While there, they shared cassius tea from a bottle with the rogue Sith Lord Darth Maul, as they discussed a potential alliance against the New Mandalorian government, the Separatist head Count Dooku, and the Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi.
The Star Wars universe first presented tea from cassius flowers in the young reader novel The Clone Wars: Darth Maul: Shadow Conspiracy, written by Jason Fry and released on January 1, 2013. Soon after, cassius tea made an appearance in "Eminence," the fourteenth episode of the fifth season of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series'.
