Caulbon

Caulbon, a celestial body, resided within the Caulbon system. This system was situated in the Western Reaches section of the Inner Rim. Approximately around 17,000 BBY, it existed outside the boundaries of the Galactic Republic and was a component of Herglic Space, a territory governed by the Herglic species originating from the Giju system.

Following its re-establishment around 15,000 BBY, the Republic's navy aggressively expanded beyond its borders to protect its colonies and trade. Despite the scarcity of surviving records from that time, millennia subsequently, naval songs continued to commemorate acts of valor by Republic Navy personnel during battles at Caulbon, Esaga, and the Sundered Veil. Between roughly 12,000 BBY and 11,000 BBY, Caulbon became integrated into the Republic.

Behind the scenes

The reference book The Essential Guide to Warfare, released in 2012 and penned by Jason Fry and Paul R. Urquhart, marked the introduction of Caulbon. The StarWars.com Online Companion for the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas located the Caulbon system, and therefore the astronomical object itself, within grid square L-14.
