The main stronghold of Rhand served as the principal dwelling for the Sorcerers of Rhand, a Dark group. This stronghold stood on the planet Rhand, situated within the Nihil Retreat star cluster located in the Perann Nebula of the Unknown Regions. The original inhabitants of Rhand, who vanished millennia before the Sorcerers of Rhand came to be, initially erected this structure. When the Knell of Muspilli, Kanzer Exiles, and Warriors of Shadow combined their ideologies within the Nihil Retreat, the most powerful sorcerers established their base in the age-old ruins on Rhand, calling themselves the Sorcerers of Rhand. In 80 BBY, Succate, a chronicler from Carrivar, traveled to Rhand's central ruin to gain knowledge of the Sorcerers. Within the receiving chamber of the ruin, Succate experienced torment and threats from Rhandites exhibiting different levels of disrepair and decomposition.
