Chak-root is a commodity that was moved around by individuals involved in smuggling, for example Tregga. Alfris Sotin, a smuggler, made contact with the Spice Runners of Kijimi, a spicerunner group, asserting that he had a significant quantity of chak-root; however, he double-crossed them and gave them up to the Guavian Death Gang when a couple of their members were dispatched to Ankot Station to rendezvous with Sotin.
