Plot summary

The events of the story unfold around 22 BBY, depicting Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker finding themselves temporarily marooned on Dagro, a world under the control of Separatist forces. Obi-Wan Kenobi ventured ahead to scout Dagro, leaving Anakin Skywalker behind, to investigate reports of Separatist presence. An attack by battle droids confirmed these reports. His ship was downed, the cause uncertain. A humble farmer named Kirlan offered assistance, sheltering him from the searching droids.

The inhabitants of Dagro held no animosity towards the Republic; however, Coruscant had provided minimal support, and they desired to avoid war on their world. Obi-Wan proposed lending a hand while awaiting Anakin's arrival. He embraced this change and derived pleasure from the physical work. This honest labor offered respite from the war, the constant fighting, and the burden of decision-making. This lasted four days, until the droids discovered his location. Obi-Wan defended the family that had aided him, choosing to confront the overwhelming enemy force. Anakin's timely arrival provided assistance. Following the brief skirmish, the two Jedi deduced the existence of a Separatist facility on Dagro, the location of which was revealed by the escaping droids. Consequently, they resolved to investigate.
