Charal's armor

Charal, a Sister of the Nightsisters – a group of Force-sensitive women originating from the planet Dathomir – donned a specific type of armor. This defensive gear, designed for bodily protection, prominently featured a unique metal breastplate. This breastplate was constructed in segments and fastened at the back with laces. She frequently paired this armor with a black grafiform robe and a plumed cape.

When Charal, marooned on the Forest Moon of Endor approximately a century prior to the Galactic Civil War, shapeshifted into a raven by utilizing the artifact called the Talisman of the Raven, her armor would vanish, only to reappear when she reverted to her Human form. In 3.5 ABY, Wicket Wystri Warrick, an Ewok, destroyed Charal's talisman with an arrow, resulting in the Nightsister's permanent transformation into a raven and, consequently, the final disappearance of her armor.

Behind the scenes

The first appearance of Charal's armor was in the 1985 television movie Ewoks: The Battle for Endor. Joe Johnston, the director and artist, conceived its design. In contrast to its original depiction as segmented, the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, developed by Sony Online Entertainment, portrayed Charal's armor as a singular metal plate embellished with mystical etchings.
