The Charis Fleet represented the most substantial Imperial naval force positioned within the Kathol sector of the Outer Rim Territories. By the year 8 ABY, this Fleet became integrated into the forces under the command of the Imperial warlord Moff Kentor Sarne. During this time, the fleet operated from the planet Charis and was led by Admiral Pertaal Logris.
The Charis Fleet served as the primary Imperial fleet formation that was active in the Kathol sector located within the Outer Rim Territories. In the year 8 ABY, the Charis Fleet became a component of the military forces loyal to Moff Kentor Sarne, who governed the Kathol sector. Following the death of Emperor Palpatine during the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY, Sarne strategically withdrew the Kathol sector from Imperial authority. This was facilitated by the fragmentation of the Imperial command structure and the resulting internal conflicts between various factions. Subsequently, Sarne proclaimed himself a warlord.
During this time, Admiral Pertaal Logris was in command of the fleet, which was based at the planet of Charis. After the New Republic ousted Moff Sarne from his capital, Kal'Shebbol, as part of their military campaign against him, he retreated into the Kathol sector's remote regions. The Moff then gave the order to divide the Charis Fleet into smaller units. This was done to enable the fleet to undertake numerous missions intended to disrupt the New Republic's efforts to forge diplomatic and military alliances within the sector, as they worked to broaden their influence.
The Charis Fleet included two Kuat Drive Yards Lancer-class frigates, a pair of Loronar Corporation Strike-class medium cruisers, four Corellian Engineering Corporation CR90 corvettes, two Kuat Drive Yards Ton-Falk-class escort carriers, as well as several Sienar Fleet Systems GAT-12 Skipray Blastboats and system patrol craft. Admiral Pertaal Logris, a dedicated supporter of Moff Sarne and his rule, held command of the Fleet.
The RPG sourcebook The DarkStryder Campaign, released by West End Games in 1995, mentioned the Charis Fleet. It was presented as background information concerning the allocation of Imperial forces within the Kathol sector.
