Charles Martinet, born on September 17, 1955, in California, United States, is a well-known American voice actor, most famously known for providing the voice of Mario, the main character from Nintendo's Super Mario video game franchise, along with other characters within the series. Beginning with his role as Imperial Admiral Garreth Holtz in 1999's Star Wars: X-Wing Alliance, he has also lent his voice to several minor characters in Star Wars games published by LucasArts. In 2001, he voiced 2-1B surgical droids, AT-AT drivers, and OOM-9, a B1-Series battle droid, in Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds. Martinet also voiced Bespin cop 2, a civilian male, Imperial officer 2, and Rebel shock troop 3 in Star Wars: Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, which was released in 2002.
