Assault shuttle

Armed shuttles known as assault shuttles served as a means for the Galactic Empire and the New Republic to deploy ground forces, specifically infantry. A standard load for an assault shuttle was a single platoon made up of forty stormtroopers. The flagship of the Alliance to Restore the Republic, called New Hope, carried assault shuttles in its hangar. Additionally, Vengeance-class dreadnoughts were equipped with their own contingents of these shuttles.

Imperial Special Operations utilized assault shuttles to transport Imperial commandos during the Subjugation of Sulon.

In later years, Boc Aseca spearheaded a team of Imperial commandos who boarded Duno Dree's transport using an assault shuttle, resulting in the capture of Qu Rahn and his squad.

Sariss, Yun, and Boc conducted a reconnaissance mission close to Fort Nowhere on Ruusan aboard one of these shuttles. Furthermore, they were employed for troop deployment during the ensuing battle.
