Chiss officer

Chiss military officers, alternatively referred to as Chiss officers, were military officers functioning within the Defense Force of the Chiss Ascendancy.

During a ceremony, officers elevated to flag rank (specifically, commodore or a higher position) had their connections to their family severed. The rationale behind this was to prevent family partiality or conflicts from influencing the Defense Force's higher levels. Chiss officers who had not attained flag rank wore black uniforms. In contrast, flag officers were attired in bright white. Their rank was indicated by full dress honor chains affixed to their uniforms.
