Chiss Syndicure

The highest governing authority within the Chiss Ascendancy was the Chiss Syndicure. It consisted of the Nine Ruling Families from the Aristocra's. Individuals who held positions within the Syndicure were referred to as Syndics.

As the collective head of state for the Chiss, the Syndicure possessed both executive and legislative powers over the Ascendancy. Although the Chiss Defense Force, including its naval branch, was intended to operate independently, this division of authority was occasionally breached.

The Aristocra, a political entity, held representation from the Forty Great Families and formed a component of the Syndicure.

Prior to 318 BBY, disputes among competing Chiss families were frequent. However, the establishment of the contemporary Syndicure brought an end to these conflicts.
