The designation Aristocra functioned both as a title and a rank within Chiss families. Although the rank of Aristocra denoted mid-tier functionaries inside a Chiss family, the title Aristocra was also employed more broadly to describe any Syndicure official holding the rank of Aristocra or a superior position.
