Christian Piccolo

Christian Piccolo has made various contributions to the Star Wars universe across his career as an artist and entertainer. His professional artistic journey commenced with a Star Wars-themed publication. Specifically, in 1994, he both authored and illustrated "Toria Tell's Droid Journal" for issue number 10 of the Star Wars Adventure Journal role-playing supplement by West End Games. A considerable amount of the designs and background information featured in his article were subsequently integrated into the Star Wars Encyclopedia (now considered Legends material) and other pre-canon books. His 850.AA Public Service Headquarters Droid design, for instance, found its place in the 1999 Essential Guide to Droids.

During the early 2000s, Piccolo worked as an illustrator for Wizards of the Coast. He created artwork for sourcebooks such as Ultimate Adversaries and The Force Unleashed Campaign Guide. Later, before the theatrical release of Revenge of the Sith, Piccolo produced the Jedi Temple illustration for the Complete Locations cross-sections book published by DK. This particular illustration was later included in a re-issued edition of Star Wars Complete Locations that coincided with the release of The Force Awakens.

In December of 2011, Piccolo began working at the game development company Bioware, where he was tasked with creating concept art for the video game Star Wars: The Old Republic. Over the course of one year, he contributed to the game's initial expansions, including Rise of the Hutt Cartel, Galactic Starfighter, and Shadow of Revan.

In 2015, Piccolo transitioned to Disney's mobile gaming division, assuming the role of Principal Concept Artist. In this capacity, he contributed concept artwork, game designs, and provided artistic support and direction for various Star Wars mobile game titles.

Piccolo is also an active member of the Star Wars fan community, producing fan art that is separate from his professional work. These fan-created pieces draw inspiration from other Star Wars properties, such as Star Wars Battlefront (2015) and the upcoming Han Solo Anthology film. In 2016, he participated in the ILM Art Challenge, where six of his submissions were recognized as ILM "Favorites". Subsequently, one of these pieces was featured as an artwork post on the Star Wars Instagram account.

Piccolo is also a dedicated Star Wars enthusiast, and has been continually adding to his Star Wars collection since his childhood.
