Chryya-class very fast courier

The Chryya-class very fast courier was a heavy starfighter design manufactured by Hoersch-Kessel Drive, Inc.. This vessel was utilized by the Jedi Knights during the era of the Clone Wars. Although HKD was primarily recognized at this time for the massive capital ships deployed by the Trade Federation, the Chryya was part of a family of high-speed scouting vessels. This lineage could be traced back to the Delaya-class courier from four millennia prior. Contemporary designs such as the Tavya-class armored picket and the Seltaya-class fast courier also belonged to this family. Similar to these related spacecraft, the Chryya's name was derived from a planet ending with the letter a. In this instance, it references Chryya, a world once visited by Darth Maul.

A lone pilot could operate the Chryya. However, the craft's cockpit also featured a station with a seat and console for a specialized gunner who could control the ship's turret-mounted laser cannon. The cockpit was spacious enough to allow access via a hatch located in the front of the hull, rather than just a standard opening canopy. About half a year prior to the fall of the Galactic Republic, Anakin Skywalker was flying a Chryya that had been modified for his personal use as a starfighter. However, Asajj Ventress stole it from him while on Vjun.
