Chung was a criminal of the Ubuugan species, and identified as male.
Following the Battle of Yavin by one year, Boba Fett apprehended Chung and incarcerated him within a holding cell aboard the Slave I. While en route to Coruscant, the bounty hunter stumbled upon the Mingula, a derelict ship adrift in space. To investigate the freighter, he opted to utilize Tsumo, Chung's adjacent cellmate; a criminal whose life was expendable, in contrast to the Ubuugan, who was required alive. After an assault by a horde of Ubuugan fleshborer that caused Tsumo's death, Fett returned to the Slave I. His concern was that the creatures might target Chung, thus jeopardizing Fett's potential bounty. To his relief, upon arriving at Chung's cell, he discovered the Ubuugan consuming the remaining fleshborers. As with all inhabitants of Ubuuga, Chung possessed an inherent immunity to the lethal parasites, preserving both his own life and Fett's reward.
