Tsumo

Tsumo was a male being of a sentient species. In 1 ABY, he found himself as a prisoner of the renowned bounty hunter, Boba Fett. Wanted either dead or alive, Fett initially chose to keep Tsumo alive. However, his plans shifted when the bounty hunter came across the ZZ-class freighter Mingula while heading towards Imperial Center. He then decided to use Tsumo as a tool to gauge the potential dangers lurking within the freighter, which appeared to be devoid of any signs of life. Tsumo, along with Fett, ventured into the Mingula, uncovering a treasure trove of valuables. Their investigation led them to the gruesome discovery of the Zylurian crew's lifeless bodies. Seizing an opportune moment, Tsumo attempted to eliminate Fett, but the bounty hunter's superior speed resulted in Tsumo being shot. The captive stumbled backward, falling onto one of the deceased crew members, which triggered the release of a swarm of flying fleshborer worms that swiftly brought about Tsumo's demise.

Biography

In 1 ABY, Tsumo, a male member of his species, had a bounty placed on him, with instructions to capture him either dead or alive. Consequently, the bounty hunter Boba Fett successfully apprehended him. Fett opted to keep Tsumo alive, at least for the time being, and confined his new prisoner within one of the holding cells located on board his Firespray-31-class patrol and attack craft, the Slave I. During their journey to Imperial Center, the capital of the Galactic Empire, Fett intercepted a distress signal emanating from the ZZ-class freighter Mingula. He deviated from his original course to investigate. The ship failed to respond to any communication attempts and showed no signs of life. Fett retrieved Tsumo from his cell and made a cryptic announcement that he had a task for him, one that could potentially lead to Tsumo's death. Tsumo protested, arguing that another of Fett's prisoners, the Ubuugan named Chung, had committed far worse offenses than he had. However, the bounty hunter remained indifferent, pointing out that the Ubuugan was wanted alive, whereas Tsumo's bounty would be paid regardless of his fate.

The pair boarded the Mingula, with Tsumo leading the way and Fett following closely behind, his blaster pistol aimed at Tsumo's back. Initially, Tsumo was uncertain about his purpose until Fett revealed that his intention was salvage. Tsumo grew despondent, realizing that he had been brought along to assess the potential hazards lurking within the Mingula, implying that any dangers would likely be triggered by him first. As they delved deeper into the ship, Tsumo sensed that something was amiss with the Mingula, something he couldn't quite put his finger on. Fett instructed him to enter the main cargo hold, which was overflowing with valuable items. To Tsumo's astonishment, they stumbled upon a death casket crafted from highly valuable solid rodomium. Fett blasted the casket open, revealing the mummified remains of Volpau, the third cousin of Galactic Emperor Palpatine, who had succumbed to unknown causes and was being transported to Imperial Center for ritual incineration.

Tsumo is killed by the fleshborers aboard the Mingula.

The mention of "unknown causes" further unsettled Tsumo. Despite this, Fett instructed him to continue exploring the Mingula after retrieving Volpau's valuable amulet. Soon, they discovered the lifeless bodies of all four crew members, covered in what Tsumo identified as "boils." Fett, convinced that everyone on board was dead, prepared to seize the ship. However, Tsumo was disturbed by the sight of the deceased Zylurian crew and requested to be returned to his cell. Before they could take any further action, Tsumo noticed movement within the boils on one of the dead Zylurians. As Fett moved closer to investigate, Tsumo swiftly grabbed a blaster from one of the fallen crew members and attempted to eliminate Fett. However, the bounty hunter reacted too quickly and managed to shoot Tsumo in the shoulder. The captive was thrown backward, landing on one of the Zylurian corpses, which caused a swarm of flying fleshborer worms to erupt from the body's "boils." The creatures descended upon Tsumo, biting and burrowing into his skin. Within moments, the captive succumbed to the attack. Fett, on the other hand, managed to escape the Mingula unharmed.

Personality and traits

Tsumo was a particularly fearful individual, constantly anticipating his own demise, either at the hands of Fett or due to the dangers lurking within the Mingula. He voiced his objections to Fett's treatment of him on various grounds, from being used as a test subject for the ship's dangers to the bounty hunter's politeness. Tsumo was perpetually seeking a way out of his predicament, pleading with Fett to release him. However, he hesitated in one instance, citing his own fear of rejection. His desire to escape Fett manifested in an attempt to kill the bounty hunter, but Tsumo made the mistake of verbalizing his intentions, allowing the bounty hunter to gain the upper hand. Tsumo had black eyes and brown skin.

Equipment

When held captive by Boba Fett, Tsumo wore a yellow-and-white jumpsuit.
