This was done to screen for potential infections from unknown pathogens. Uokara, a lush world situated in the Unknown Regions, was designated as a class IV planet. Following his assessment of the planet, the Sith Lord Darth Vader was mandated to undergo quarantine, which exposed his infection by Ghymnon, a previously unidentified pathogen pervasive throughout Uokara.
The designation of class IV planet appeared in "The Inhabitant," a narrative crafted by Steve Orlando, with illustrations by Paul Davidson. It was featured in the comic book Darth Vader – Black, White & Red 4, released on July 26, 2023.
