Their mission involved "blazing" a path through enemy formations, and removing battlefield obstructions to facilitate the advancement of regular infantry. This was achieved through the use of wrist-mounted flamethrowers combined with their considerable physical power.
When engaging Jedi or other ground-based adversaries, their standard tactic involved utilizing their jetpacks for rapid approach, followed by either a backhanded strike or a bear hug, culminating in slamming the target onto the ground and employing their flamethrowers.
During the Clone Wars, these troopers saw action on various battlefields, including Rhen Var, Mygeeto, Utapau, and Coruscant. Equipped with flamethrowers, they were deployed to disperse large groups of enemies. Their exceptional strength also allowed them to easily lift and dismantle B2-series super battle droids using only their hands.
During Operation: Knightfall and its aftermath, a contingent of blaze troopers was stationed within the Jedi Temple, where they engaged in combat with Jedi such as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda.
The standard equipment for blaze troopers consisted of heavy jetpacks and a pair of wrist-mounted flamethrowers. Their armor was constructed from reinforced duraplast plating, and was exceptionally thick, incorporating a powerful exoskeleton to compensate for the weight of their equipment and weaponry.
In the Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures video game, players have the option to acquire a set of armor that closely resembles the clone blaze trooper armor. However, within the game, this armor is referred to as "Super Trooper."
