A communications team, sometimes referred to as a comms team, had the duty of accepting transmissions sent by EX droids from Republic Pathfinders operating remotely in the distant Outer Rim Territories. Following this, they would establish a network of relay buoys to maintain a connection between the Republic and those worlds on the edge of explored space.
