Companion Cresh was a satellite dwarf galaxy located far from the galaxy. This dwarf galaxy was situated significantly farther than the 150,000 light year distance that separated Companion Besh from the main galaxy. The Galactic Empire formally categorized Companion Cresh as residing within the Unknown Regions. The name of this dwarf galaxy bore a partial resemblance to the Aurebesh letter known as Cresh. During the twelfth day of the Officer Candidate School Orientation course at the Baobab Merchant Marine Academy, the instructor Crix Q5 Baobab provided instruction to his pupils about satellite dwarf galaxies, with Companion Cresh included as an example.
The reference book The Essential Atlas, authored by Jason Fry and Daniel Wallace in 2009, marked the initial appearance of Companion Cresh.
