The Conquest of Raxus Prime represents an engagement initiated by the forces of the Galactic Republic during the era of the Clone Wars, occurring shortly after the First Battle of Geonosis.
In the aftermath of the Evacuation of Rhen Var, the Republic detected some unusual activity transpiring on Raxus Prime. Consequently, the Republic made the decision to dispatch a combat team under the command of Jedi Knights Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi to investigate the situation. Upon arrival, Anakin and Obi-Wan proceeded to the planet's surface to conduct reconnaissance. Following the elimination of an enemy STAP patrol after a demanding pursuit across the desolate terrain, they discovered an enemy excavation operation and summoned their assault vessel to provide additional support.
Anakin and Obi-Wan launched an offensive against several supply convoys in order to delay the enemy and buy time for the arrival of their strike force. Once the strike force had landed, they endured a perilous advance characterized by concealed traps and surprise engagements, with Anakin providing protection for a contingent of AT-TEs and Obi-Wan independently neutralizing a Separatist outpost. Upon reaching the excavation site, they found their beta forces positioned at the rear shield, prepared to dismantle it. Following the destruction of the main generator, which allowed the beta forces to enter the battlefield, both strike teams initiated an assault, destroying the remaining defensive units and the fuel supply lines of the Separatists. However, the operation was revealed to be a calculated ambush, as an attack by a Protodeka effectively decimated the strike team, leaving only Kenobi and Skywalker alive.
As the intensity of the battle waned, Anakin observed Count Dooku making his escape aboard a Hardcell-class interstellar transport and pursued him. However, he was ultimately overwhelmed by Dooku and Cydon Prax, who rendered him incapacitated. With Dooku and Prax having successfully escaped, the Confederates deployed their formidable war machine, the Protodeka. The Protodeka annihilated the remaining forces, with only Obi-Wan managing to survive. Obi-Wan, acting alone, destroyed the war machine, but Count Dooku's vessel had already departed the system with Anakin and his deadly machine just as the Republic's reinforcements arrived.
With Prax serving as Anakin's guard, Dooku initially intended to execute the young Jedi. However, his master, Darth Sidious, intervened, demanding that he be kept alive, as he had "plans" for the Padawan. Dooku complied and delivered Anakin to Sidious, who intended to subject him to his own agenda. However, Sidious had already arranged for a strike force to rescue Anakin; Sidious allowed Anakin to escape for the sake of Sidious's plan and to keep his true identity unknown. Subsequently, Palpatine orchestrated another "meeting" with the young Jedi, further fueling Anakin's growing suspicions regarding the Jedi Order.
