The Contispex dynasty represents an ideological lineage of Supreme Chancellors. These leaders, followers of the Pius Dea humanocentrism religious belief, governed a theocratic and authoritarian Galactic Republic for a period of millennium. A significant portion of the ruling class traced their ancestry back to its originator, Contispex I, including his offspring Contispex II. The final Pius Dea leader to hold authority was Contispex XIX; he was apprehended by the Jedi Order on the vessel Flame of Sinthara and transported to Caamas, where he faced trial and was incarcerated for the remainder of his days.
