Coruscul, a world found within the Core Worlds region, once housed a clandestine stronghold utilized by the Order of the Silver Jedi, a specific group within the broader Jedi Order. Following his unexpected release from a lifeless starship adrift in space during the era of the New Republic, the dark side of the Force-aligned being called the Force vampire initiated a journey to Coruscul with the intention of obliterating the Jedi stronghold located there.
Positioned within the Coruscul system, Coruscul was a world that fell within the Arrowhead, also known as the Slice, section of the Core Worlds.
During the time of the Galactic Republic, Coruscul served as the location of a stronghold belonging to the Order of the Silver Jedi, a distinct faction of the Jedi Order. Sometime between 86 BBY and 24 BBY, a failed experiment conducted by the Order resulted in the Jedi Knight Tel Angor's transformation into the dark side of the Force-aligned entity known as the Force vampire. Despite the Force vampire's efforts to eliminate all records related to his creation, he never made his way to the Coruscul stronghold—the last place where such information was kept—before becoming trapped on an Outrider-class cruiser that remained a derelict in space until after the New Republic was established in 4 ABY. After a New Republic picket ship inadvertently freed the Force vampire, he embarked on a journey to Coruscul aboard the passenger starliner Dantooine's Pride, with the express purpose of destroying the stronghold that served as a final reminder of the Order of the Silver Jedi and contained evidence of his own existence.
A hidden stronghold, once a base of operations for the Order of the Silver Jedi, was situated on Coruscul. The stronghold on Coruscul maintained records in its computer logs detailing the creation and abilities of the Force vampire, as well as a data journal providing a similar account of the being's origins.
The roleplaying game source article "Dangers from the Dark Side: Villains for the Star Wars: New Republic Campaign, Part Two," penned by Bill Slavicsek and Michele Carter for West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game, mentioned Coruscul. This article was featured in the 104th issue of Polyhedron magazine, which was published in February 1995. The reference book The Essential Atlas, published in 2009, specified that the Coruscul system, and therefore Coruscul itself, was located in grid square L-10.
