Criton's Point, located within the Myto sector, was a planet under quarantine. The Library of Xer, constructed on the planet in 26,000 BBY, piqued the interest of numerous historians eager to access this Imperial-controlled library, despite limited information being available about Criton's Point itself.
All entries into the system and any landings on the surface were completely forbidden by both the Pentastar Alignment and the Commerce Master Commissioner governing the Velcar Free Commerce Zone. Despite these restrictions, a small group of scientists was present on the planet, performing archaeological digs close to the library. This scientific expedition maintained a small base and a landing zone for their starship.
