Dark Force Rising 3, a comic book, represented the third installment of the Star Wars: Dark Force Rising comic series, which itself was adapted from the novel Dark Force Rising. Its publication date was July 30, 1997.

From the obscured remnants of history, the Jedi Master known as C'Baoth schools Luke Skywalker in novel applications of the Force, methods that grant him the ability to manipulate others. These techniques are frequently associated with the dark side of the Force.

Behind the scenes

A brief appearance by Captain James T. Kirk, Doctor Leonard McCoy, and Mr. Spock, characters from Star Trek, occurs on the planet Jomark. Furthermore, a young boy on Jomark can be seen clutching a miniature replica of the U.S.S. Enterprise. An individual positioned behind the boy is in possession of a Star Trek communicator device.
