Dart shooter

A concealed dart launcher is used by Deliah Blue. Dart shooters were frequently used in situations calling for stealth, as their discreet nature allowed them to bypass security checks. Citizens who wanted to arm themselves without drawing attention also favored them. A prominent manufacturer of dart shooters was Prax Arms.

The design of the weapon was quite simple, utilizing a high-tension spring to propel a metal dart coated with nerve toxin. Palm-sized weapons had a limited range of only three to four meters, but their small size made them easy to conceal until the target was within striking distance. Many dart shooters could hold three darts, with additional darts easily stored in a disguised comlink or wristband.

More conventional dart shooters had an effective range of up to ten meters, although some of the more advanced models, which used compressed air to launch darts, had a range ten times greater. These weapons were larger and harder to hide, but had a higher ammo capacity, typically holding up to six darts. The weapons themselves weighed only about 100 grams.

The darts were typically around five centimeters in length and could be coated with various substances, from stun chemicals like concentrated Symoxin to lethal nerve toxins such as Malkite themfar and Fex-M3, which could kill in under ten seconds.
