The Sith Lord known as Darth Scabrous made his home inside the tower, where he conducted sinister research into the field of Sith alchemy. It was inside this tower that he engineered The Sickness, a virulent agent with the ability to extinguish life and then revive the deceased. In 3645 BBY, the tower suffered damage, with the upper portions obliterated by Scabrous's own defensive turbolasers positioned around the academy.
