Dauren served as a lieutenant within the Imperial military forces stationed on the world of Carida.
During the arrival of Kyp Durron piloting the Sun Crusher, he threatened the annihilation of the Carida system unless he received details regarding his sibling, Zeth. Furgan, the governing authority of Carida, instructed Dauren to delay Kyp, providing Caridan military units the necessary time to neutralize the Sun Crusher.
Dauren fabricated a narrative for Kyp, stating that Zeth had perished valiantly, saving his entire unit during stormtrooper exercises. In a fit of rage, Kyp initiated the sequence to destroy Carida's star, Caridan. Realizing the impossibility of reversing the process, and after all efforts to subdue or eliminate the Sun Crusher proved futile, Dauren revealed the actual truth to Kyp: Zeth was, in fact, still living. To validate his claim, he even presented Zeth to Kyp. A desperate Kyp immediately flew towards their location, with the intention of rescuing Zeth before the impending supernova—and Dauren too, believing an Imperial informant could be useful. Upon landing, however, he witnessed Dauren unexpectedly attacking Zeth, striking him from the rear.
Kyp sealed his cockpit, denying Dauren entry, and Zeth retaliated by fatally shooting Dauren from behind with his blaster; regrettably, Dauren's recklessness created a sufficient delay that ultimately resulted in Zeth's demise, as the star exploded into a supernova just moments before Kyp could rescue his brother.
