Once a servant of the Galactic Empire, Daymon Thorn held the title of Dark Jedi. He was infamously known by many as the "Emperor's Wardog".
Thorn's past included being a Jedi Knight. He found himself trapped with his master, his lover, and an Ithorian scientist aboard an ancient ghost ship. Together, they discovered the Korendums. Thorn, uniquely understanding the ancient crystals' potential, succumbed to the dark side. He then committed murder against his master, seized the Korendums with Yele and Suunfuus, and leveraged his newfound abilities to persuade the Gorgorror's artificial intelligence to grant them escape. Shortly after their departure, Thorn attempted to steal the crystals from his allies.
Yele responded with a brutal breakup, leading the three to separate. Thorn aligned himself with the Empire as a Dark Jedi, swiftly becoming "Lord Thorn," while Yele journeyed to Taypho and Suunfuus to Oriadann, each taking their respective crystal far away. Despite this, the fallen Jedi never relinquished his ambition to harness the Korendums' power. He initiated the construction of a superlaser on his Super Star Destroyer, designed to mirror that of the first Death Star, amplified by the combined strength of the reunited crystals.
Following the Battle of Yavin, Thorn used his network of spies to locate Yele. After following some Rebel agents who were on a diplomatic mission to Taypho, the Dark Jedi took considerable steps to ensure their survival and ease their journey, even dispatching a patrol to "rescue" them from Jabba's forces on Tatooine.
Later, he launched an assault on Yele and the Taïs rebellion to retrieve the Korendum stored on Taypho. Although Yele and the Rebel operatives managed to escape, Thorn successfully seized the crystal and departed the planet, setting course for Brazadann.
Upon arriving on the basaltic planet, the Emperor's Wardog made contact with the local inhabitants in an attempt to locate Suunfuus and his Korendum, but they refused to cooperate. In response, he initiated a ground invasion of the planet, laying siege to the massive fortress that served as both the capital and the planet's only city. During the campaign's final battle, Thorn led stormtroopers and Imperial Royal Guards through the defenses, eventually reaching the central forge where the Korendums were safeguarded.
In the end, his schemes were foiled by the same group of Rebel agents he had manipulated to find Yele and Suunfuus, preventing him from utilizing the crystals for his superweapon.
Driven by ambition, he was a rogue Jedi who succumbed to the lure of the dark side, captivated by the immense energy potential of the Korendums. To secure these crystals for his own purposes, Thorn murdered his master and deceived his companions. When immediate success eluded him, he submitted to the Empire, seemingly achieving a position of considerable influence.
Despite this, Thorn remained patient, pursuing his personal projects and relentlessly tracking his former allies over the years in the hopes of constructing his own superweapon.
Thorn possessed exceptional combat skills and mastery of the Force, wielding Force powers such as telekinesis and Force Wound. Deeply entrenched in the dark side, he exuded an aura of fear, amplified by his imposing physique and the deep, scarlet robes adorned with the Imperial seal.
Christophe Debien and Patrick Bousquet were the creators of Daymon Thorn, who was featured in the canon-ambiguous roleplaying scenario "La légende des cristaux," published in the French magazine Casus Belli 76.
As a roleplaying scenario with an open-ended narrative, the story does not definitively state Thorn's ultimate fate. One potential conclusion suggested his victory and the recovery of all the Korendum. However, Lyoon's in-universe citation hinted at a player victory, indicating that the "Young Heroes just immortalized the Legend of the Crystals" and that "the time of Balance had come."
