Rumored to have committed matricide, Deeng possessed a reputation as a brutal Rodian enforcer.
Before the events of the Battle of Yavin, a rebellion among the slave population occurred within Jabba's Palace on Tatooine. In 1 ABY, Drik Bandrik, a slave trader angered by Kitster Banai's consistent efforts to better the lives of enslaved individuals, falsely accused him of instigating the uprising at the palace. Despite Kitster's innocence, Jabba sided with Drik Bandrik and dispatched Deeng to assassinate Kitster. With Kitster's life hanging in the balance, a spacer intervened and helped him, resulting in Deeng's discovery and elimination before he could reach Mos Espa.
Before its shutdown on December 15, 2011, Deeng existed as a Non-Player Character (NPC) within the MMORPG Star Wars Galaxies. Players undertaking a series of quests for Kitster in Mos Espa were tasked with locating and eliminating Deeng outside the city limits.
