These vehicles, known as delving citadels or delving-citadels, were utilized by ore-dukes for mining operations on the planet Shu-Torun. In the course of the War on Shu-Torun, the Galactic Empire annihilated a citadel owned by the dukes, an act that deeply disturbed their ally, Queen Trios. Trios recognized the critical importance of these vehicles for fulfilling Imperial production demands post-war. Consequently, she implored the Sith Lord Darth Vader to cease the destruction of the citadels, but her plea was rejected. Subsequently, she specifically requested that the citadel belonging to Baron Rubix be the next target, due to his prior attempt on her life.
