Demar existed as the fourth planet within the Demar system.
This planet featured a single, substantial continent situated in its eastern hemisphere, along with three continents of smaller size located in its western hemisphere. The Alto Ocean and the Lant Ocean served as dividing features between the eastern and western hemispheres. Polar ice caps were present at both the northern and southern extremes of the planet.
The landscape was primarily composed of old, stone mountains, extensive valleys, and expansive elevated plains. Near the equator, the mountains displayed immense, wind-eroded mesas at their summits.
Urban centers were constructed within valleys, atop plateaus, or integrated into the slopes of mountains. The majority of these cities were concentrated on the largest continent. Well-defined routes for speeder traffic and aerial transportation linked the various cities of Demar.
The Lant Mining Corporation possessed complete ownership of the planet, with its central corporate offices based in the primary city of Janos. Consequently, Demar's financial system was significantly linked to the success of its corporate proprietor. At approximately the time of the Battle of Yavin, joblessness had risen dramatically because of reduced output from Lant Mining. Consequently, the spaceports frequently contained crowds of individuals requesting help or seeking a means to leave Demar.
Maceb Joodsen, who served as the copilot of the vessel Redshift Runner, originated from Demar.
