Brak sector

The Brak sector, a sector situated in the Expansion Region, was approximately twenty light-years away from the Corellian Run on The Slice. According to the Empire's official records, it contained 67 inhabited systems and 355 uninhabited systems, although the actual count of populated systems was closer to 90 when factoring in the smaller, unrecorded colonies and unofficial activities within the sector.

Only one native sentient species called the Brak sector home: the Aramandi. These beings were generally isolationist, and their home worlds were located in the Aramand Cluster.

History

Detailed map of the Brak sector

During the Galactic Empire's reign, Moff Lesan Ramier held governorship over the sector. Because the Lant Mining Corporation, a company loyal to the Empire, owned or controlled a significant portion of the sector, the Imperial Navy maintained only a standard Sector Group comprising 2,400 vessels (including 30 Star Destroyers). Admiral Garrik Trier commanded these naval forces.

Around the time the Battle of Yavin occurred, the Rebel Alliance had started to establish a considerable presence in the Brak sector under the leadership of General Trep Reskan. The Alliance operated several small bases in uninhabited systems, with Oracle Base in the Tel system serving as their primary base of operations.

During the height of the New Order, Bacrana Shipyards, an independent shipyard, functioned within this sector while remaining independent of Imperial control.

In the aftermath of the Battle of Endor, the Brak sector was among the first to break free from the Empire's grasp.
