The arrival of Darth Wyyrlok III at the Keep, driven by his pursuit of Darth Andeddu's hidden knowledge, prompted Demetri and his fellow Dark Jedi to confronted the visiting Sith Lord. Nevertheless, Wyyrlok's profound command of the Force proved insurmountable, and consequently, under the sway of a Force illusion projecting multiple images of Wyyrlok, Gerlun struck down Demetri.
