The Second Battle of Nomad City involved a strike initiated by Grand Admiral Thrawn. His objective was to replenish essential hfredium and kammris resources for his shipyards situated within the Bilbringi system.
Thrawn dispatched three Dreadnaught-class heavy cruisers for the purpose of acquisition. Following the disruption of communications within Nomad City, and the incapacitation of both the city and its protective shieldships, Thrawn successfully obtained substantial credits along with a four-month supply of resources.
The mobile city was rendered inoperable, preventing its escape from the approaching and lethal sunrise of Nkllon. Nevertheless, the Peregrine, under the command of General Garm Bel Iblis, made its arrival. Bel Iblis' troops provided assistance in the evacuation of Nomad City's inhabitants. Lando Calrissian and Bel Iblis requested Admiral Hiram Drayson to contribute a portion of his fleet to rescue the city, but Drayson declined. Consequently, despite the successful evacuation of the entire population, Nomad City itself succumbed to the intense heat of the star, resulting in its destruction.
