Peregrine (Dreadnaught-class)

The Peregrine, a heavy cruiser of the Dreadnaught-class, initially served within the Katana fleet of the Old Republic. Later, during the Galactic Civil War, it functioned as the flagship for General Bel Iblis.

History

This vessel was an integral component of the Katana fleet. Approximately around 45 BBY, it vanished along with the rest of the fleet due to the emergence of a hive virus.

Decades following this disappearance, after the Katana Dreadnaughts were rediscovered by Captain Hoffner and subsequently sold to Garm Bel Iblis, Bel Iblis selected the abandoned Peregrine to serve as the command ship for his own fleet. He subsequently employed it to direct his forces throughout the Thrawn campaign. C'taunmar and Perris were among the crew members.

The name Peregrine was derived from the Peregrine, a spectral figure from Corellian folklore, destined to eternally roam the galaxy. Bel Iblis perceived shared traits between himself and the Peregrine.

During the Raid on New Cov, it functioned as the flagship for Irenez.

The Peregrine continued to be Bel Iblis's vessel until at least the time of the Caamas Document Crisis, during which Rogue Squadron was assigned to Bel Iblis. In contrast to the majority of ships, the Peregrine's decryption systems were located in an external comm blister, instead of a more centrally located area. While many assumed this was an error made by the refitting teams, it was in fact a deliberate decision made by Bel Iblis, who appreciated the solitude afforded by the blister.
