Director of Imperial Intelligence

Ysanne Isard, the final Director to head Imperial Intelligence under the Galactic Empire before it fell. The Director of Imperial Intelligence, also referred to as the Internal Security Director, designated the individual in charge of the Galactic Empire's Imperial Intelligence. This role was essentially a continuation of the Director of the Senate Bureau of Intelligence. When Palpatine created the Galactic Empire three years after the First Battle of Geonosis, the bureau was reorganized into Imperial Intelligence. Within the Empire, this position—a component of and overseeing the Ubiqtorate—represented the highest echelon of leadership within Imperial Intelligence, carrying significant influence and status.

Only two individuals are definitively known to have occupied this position: Armand Isard, who received his appointment under the Galactic Republic from then-Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, and his daughter Ysanne Isard, who orchestrated Armand Isard's execution and subsequently secured her own appointment by Emperor Palpatine. Following the deaths of Palpatine and his Grand Vizier Sate Pestage, this role unexpectedly gained control over the entire Empire, despite not being originally designed for such extensive power.

At one point, Cronal, an Emperor's Hand, took the reins of the Intelligence Agency, but he eventually relinquished the position. The exact timeframe of his tenure remains unclear.
