Dorlo, under the control of the Galactic Empire, was a planet situated within the Atravis sector of the Outer Rim Territories.
Initially, the colonists considered Dorlo's landscape "beautiful", characterized by balmy days, fertile valleys suitable for farming, fields of Braal, flowing rivers, and snowy mountain ranges. The soil was abundant in ore, which fueled the Empire's weapon production. During the SoroSuub occupation, many of these areas were transformed into excavated pits.
In the distant past, predating the Galactic Empire, an ancient and unidentified civilization, possessing advanced architecture and Writing, left behind remnants on the planet. These included lengthy walls adorned with written symbols, subsequently buried beneath the surface.
Approximately four generations before the Galactic Civil War, colonists established settlements on Dorlo.
The SoroSuub Corporation dispatched a reconnaissance droid to assess the planet's resources. Three local months later, a Corporate starliner arrived, acquired the farms at a low price, and relocated the settlers to a desert planet bordering the Outer Rim. In an effort to protect their land, some farmers resisted; thirty-six lost their lives, and rudimentary memorials were erected near a road intersection to mark the location.
Ten thousand mining machines were deployed via freighters and shuttles; guided and operated by geolocation satellites, they extracted fifty tons of ore each local day, which was then loaded onto the freighters.
During their resource exploration, the SoroSuub mining droids unearthed a wall stretching three miles in length, constructed long ago by Dorlo's original inhabitants. Although the company had little interest in preserving the ruin, they believed that the writing covering the structure could yield further resources, leading them to hire Professor Nij Por Ral.
Qu Rahn, in pursuit of the Valley of the Jedi, brought allies from the New Republic to the planet to locate the Professor and convince him to join their mission. The linguist hesitantly agreed to depart without the company's consent, aware that his work would be abandoned. Accompanied by Duno Dree, Cee Norley, and Rolanda Gron, they fled Imperial forces on a skimmer; however, the Seven Dark Jedi, dispatched to apprehend them by Jerec, thwarted their escape.
