The double vibroblade consisted of a central, spiraled grip with two vibroblades affixed to it. Mastery of this weapon was challenging, yet it became lethal in the hands of a skilled practitioner. It shared a resemblance in both name and construction with the older vibro double-blade, but it lacked the cortosis-weave improvements.
The Imperial Sovereign Protectors, the distinguished Royal Guards, favored the double vibroblade as their weapon. Notably, Carnor Jax and Kir Kanos of the Royal Guard wielded them. The double vibroblades were employed in battles among prospective Royal Guards within The Squall, an arena situated on the world of Yinchorr. As a matter of fact, Kir Kanos and Carnor Jax fought their last battle in the Squall using these double weapons.
Darth Vader at one point took a double vibroblade to show off his talents against Burr Danid, who was the top pupil at the Imperial Royal Guard Academy during that period, within the Squall. He demonstrated equal lethality with this weapon as he did with his solitary lightsaber.
