Dranae Shai served as a Warrior for the Yuuzhan Vong. Affiliated with Domain Shai, Dranae, along with his younger relative Neira, received orders from Commander Shedao Shai to retrieve the remains of their forefather, Mongei Shai, located on Bimmiel. Despite their efforts, Dranae and Neira were unsuccessful in finding the body because Bimmiel's magnetic field disrupted their search. Upon the arrival of Corran Horn and Ganner Rhysode, who were there to save two individuals from Anki Pace's research group, Corran and Dranae entered into a fight, during which Corran nearly cut off Dranae's right leg and Dranae's amphistaff bit the Jedi Knight. The cauterizing effect of the lightsaber didn't prove fatal, and Dranae, embodying the spirit of a Domain Shai warrior, pressed on despite the agony. Ultimately, Corran provoked slashrats to attack Dranae, resulting in the warrior's dismemberment. Discovering the bodies of Dranae and Neira, Shedao Shai swore vengeance against Corran Horn.
