Drexl Roosh

Drexl Roosh, a male Rodian, held the position of leader within the Rodian Salvager's Cartel as a scavenger during the Imperial Era.

Biography

Drexl established and commanded a group of scavengers that conducted operations on Raxus Prime. A ruthless Rodian, his primary motivation was avarice. Once an ally of the Galactic Empire, he became a wanted individual due to accusations involving at least thirty-eight counts of fraudulent activities, distribution of defective goods, and unlawful slave trading. To evade capture, he sought refuge on Raxus Prime, where he oversaw a Rodian-led salvage enterprise.

He harbored a strong dislike for Jawas, despite employing numerous members in his Raxus Prime operation. In spite of his aggressive demeanor, he secretly lived in fear of Kazdan Paratus, a deranged Jedi concealed on the junkyard planet. Drexl typically delegated combat duties to his subordinates. However, when forced into battle, he would often don substantial armor and brandish a sizable vibrosword.

He and his scavenging crew engaged in combat with Darth Vader's secret apprentice, Starkiller, during Starkiller's assignment on the scavenger planet. When Roosh demanded payment from Starkiller in return for divulging Paratus's location, Starkiller employed a Force-choke to compel him to speak. Drexl vowed to exact vengeance, and subsequently, he and his forces ambushed and attacked Starkiller, also revealing that he recognized Starkiller as a fugitive sought by the Empire, expressing his intention to collect the bounty on Starkiller's head. Nevertheless, he was defeated in the ensuing confrontation. After being knocked down, he began laughing in a maniacal way, with the intention of distracting the Force user long enough for one of his cartel's LAAT gunships to lock onto him. However, the Sith apprentice turned his attention to the gunship, causing it to crash down onto Drexl, presumably killing him.

During Starkiller's subsequent visit to Raxus Prime, he confronted Drexl and his followers within a tunnel leading to Drexl's hideout. Drexl was enraged that Starkiller had defeated Kazdan Paratus, whose droids had deterred the Empire; with Paratus gone, the Empire had plundered Raxus of its metals, leaving minimal salvageable material. Drexl located a jetpack and attempted to flee from his impending demise. Starkiller used the Force to seize Drexl and his jetpack, lifting him high into the air. The Rodian activated his jetpack and set it to maximum thrust in an attempt to escape. The young Sith apprentice released his hold, and Drexl plummeted to the ground due to the jetpack's power. He impacted the ground, and the jetpack exploded, ultimately resulting in his death.

Behind the scenes

Drexl is featured in the PlayStation 2, Wii, and PSP iterations of The Force Unleashed video game, as well as within the novel. He is absent from the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 versions of the game.

The battle between Drexl and Starkiller is portrayed differently in the novel compared to the game. In the game, Drexl meets his end when Starkiller hurls a gunship onto him. Conversely, in the novel, he is killed during Starkiller's confrontation with the Rodian within the tunnels leading to his hideout.
